Bryant Park, an ode to the Manhattan discoveries

A place somewhere in Manhattan…

1.5 oz Stolichnaya Sticki Vodka

.5 oz Drambuie

.25oz tangelo shrub

6-8 dashes Bittered Sling Denman bitters

Top with unfiltered wheat beer, I used Rickards white

Shaken, except beer, with lots of ice. Double strain into chilled cocktail glass. Crown with

beer and stir. Enjoy neat or on ice.

Stolichnaya Sticki is a honey flavoured vodka that I discovered at the Manhattan Cocktail

Classic.

While partying at the New York City public library on the infamous gala night, I

sipped the most amazing complex cocktail that was sweet like honey with savoury notes

of fresh thyme. If there was every one drink that would define the Manhattan Cocktail Classic, this was it.

Unfortunately, you could not get this particular Stoli in Canada, until now. After finally

getting my hands on this bottle I came home and made ‘Bryant Park’, a dedication to

NYC. Exotic and bewitching, Drambuie added depth and spice. The tangelo shrub

incorporated a beautiful fruit note and the addition of Bittered Sling Denman bitters

rounded it all out. It wasn’t until I shook and tasted it that beer popped into my head; I just

happened to have some Richards white in my fridge. Previously won in a bet, and it

blended perfectly with the Sticki. Perfect cocktail to study with.
