“Bakers Blood”

“Bakers Blood”

Baker's Blood
1 part Bakers Bourbon – or something similar that is high proof, cutting the sweetness of the other ingredients and giving the drink further character.
1 part Luxardo Limoncello
1 part Luxardo Amaro Abano – The Abano is not available in all markets. Averna Amaro makes the ideal stand-in.
1.5 parts Sicilian Blood Orange Juice fresh pressed.
Volcano Organic brand, is a great substitute for fresh blood orange juice, if none is unavailable.

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add four large ice cubes. Hard shake for 20+ seconds. Double strain into chilled large flute. The double strain here is important, as the rich, stout-like foam is fined and sits like velvet on top of the drink.
Think of drinking a slightly acidic, fresh stout, and that is comparable to the final product.
